“Profitable: time-wise, financially and ergonomically”
Reference: Aritco
In a 16,000 square meter factory in Veddesta on the outskirts of Stockholm, the elevator manufacturer Aritco has its base. Nearly 4,000 elevators are manufactured here every year and sold worldwide. The lifting momentums are many. With the help of lifting tools, the work has become significantly easier, and the staff are now able to work more independently.
Increased productivity with lifting tools
At Aritco, elevator components such as door leaves, platforms, empty pallets, and manhole glass, used to be lifted by hand.
Almir Cehic works as Product Technician and Protection Agent at Aritco. He says that the company now utilizes five lifting tools, instead of lifting manually, and the difference in the workplace compared to before is vast.
“Before, we used to yell ‘I´m lifting!’, then everybody got together and helped,” says Almir. “Triple glass weighs around 100 kg. We used to need three to four people to lift it onto a table, and then down on a pallet. Today, one single person can easily manage to do the same job themselves.”
Almir acknowledges that its thanks to the lifting tool the staff no longer need to interrupt their work to help colleagues with lifting. This has increased productivity, and thereby has become a profitable returned on the investment he made into lifting tools a couple of months ago.
“A lifting tool is profitable every day of the week, both time-wise, financially and ergonomically.”, says Almir. “I always say that the glimmer in the eyes of the person who lifts triple glass cannot be compared to all the money in the world. Lifting once is no problem, but what about lifting daily, weekly, or monthly.”

Lifting tools for lifting up high
Aritco’s lifting tools are customized for their organization. This means that they are designed according to the weight of the load and how it is to be handled. Amongst other lifting tools, Aritco also has a Manhattan pallet gripper that lifts pallets extra high.
“Our pallets were stacked alternately in a 1.5 – 2-meter pile. The pallet can weigh 35 kg. We used to have to throw them down by hand. Now, the Manhattan makes it possible to lift and turn the pallets, and it can handle both small and big pallets. It’s a success!”
