The contactor gripper is a specially designed tool for lifting electronically-controlled switches that weigh up to 65 kg. A contactor that would normally call for two people to lift, can now be handled by one.
The gripper is a small and relatively simple tool to use, but it has been carefully constructed to grip and hold on to a very slim area. In this instance, the contactors are picked up from a high conveyor belt and placed in boxes on the ground. Because of this difference in height, this gripper was designed with two control panels and handles – providing ergonomic support at all levels, adding flexibility to the work and making this gripper very user-friendly.
