When bed manufacturer Scapa needed to improve both the working environment and production efficiency, they chose a customized lifting solution from Lifts All. With ergonomic tools and an optimized traverse system, the company has created a sustainable work environment that saves both time and physical strain — supported every step of the way, from needs analysis to post-installation follow-up.

At Scapa in Alvesta, around 60 people work across everything from sales to the production of beds. Sustainability is a core part of the company’s philosophy — whether it concerns people, products, or manufacturing.
When Scapa realized that their existing electric bed lifts were neither ergonomic nor efficient, they began searching for a comprehensive solution to improve both workplace safety and production flow. After connecting with Lifts All, Scapa opted for a tailored lifting system adapted to their specific needs.

A New Way of Lifting

Andreas Knobloch, Production Manager at Scapa, explains that employees previously had to rely on a colleague to help lift a bed — causing interruptions and unnecessary strain.

“We needed to find a way to improve efficiency while also ensuring a decent working environment. Lifting and rotating components that weigh 30–50 kilograms each wasn’t sustainable long term — or particularly efficient,” says Andreas. He adds that they aimed to streamline the production line for the team working there and reduce excessive walking and downtime.

After a meeting with Lifts All at a trade fair, the idea of using a lifting tool was sparked. Soon after, one of Lifts All’s technical sales advisors, Robin, visited Scapa in Alvesta to assess the needs on-site.

“Robin came to us, saw what we needed and why, contributed with ideas, and was a great sounding board,” says Andreas. “We were total beginners when it came to lifting tools, but it was clear he knew his stuff and made helpful suggestions for how a solution could work in our setting.”

A Solution Tailored to the Business

The result was a vacuum gripper and a mechanical gripper, both designed to make the bed frames virtually weightless. Since both tools have the same controls, they’re easy to learn and operate. Now, a single person can lift the beds on their own.

The lifting tools are mounted on to a traverse system that optimizes the entire workspace, allowing staff to move freely with the equipment and fully utilize the area.

“We’ve saved time and, more importantly, spared our bodies. There are no more awkward, heavy lifts — it’s definitely a sustainable work environment now,” says Andreas.

He notes that, as with all new things, there was some initial resistance, but the tools are now used daily.

“It’s very user-friendly, especially considering how substantial the rig is by our standards. The controls are intuitive and easy to handle,” he says.

Support from First Contact to Follow-Up

Andreas says he would gladly recommend Lifts All to other companies.

“Absolutely! Jan, who did the installation, was a great guy. And it’s really been the communication, support, and advice throughout the process that has made a big difference for us, as we had no prior experience with lifting tools. Without that, we might have ended up with the wrong solution — but instead, we worked with someone who prioritized what was best for us as a customer,” he explains.

One thing Andreas particularly values is how Lifts All has followed up even after the installation:

“The follow-up and aftercare — making sure everything’s working as expected. The job doesn’t end when the invoice is sent. They’ve checked in and confirmed that the system delivers as hoped, and I really appreciate that. It shows that they care about their work.”

”We’ve saved time and, more importantly, spared our bodies. There are no more awkward, heavy lifts — it’s definitely a sustainable work environment now.”
